What started you loving Bingo
November 18, 2008My love for bingo started when I was a child playing bingo while holidaying in a resort in England. Family bingo started at 6.30pm on Sundays and all the family were invited to join in.
I remember this was one of the highlights of our stay at the resorts and we as kids, got very excited at the prospect of maybe winning some pocket money. My Mum purchased a single ticket book containing 6 games of bingo for my sister and me and we all sat around the table with our pens waiting for the first number to be called. No wins for us during the first 3 games and then I remember that on the fourth game my numbers came up and we all shouted “house”. I was so excited as I had won the grand some of £5.00 which to me at the time was a lot of money to buy myself sweets.
This became an annual event on our family holidays after the first time of playing as a family. We managed to win nearly every time we played. This tradition carried on when I had my own girls and my eldest is as mad on Bingo now as what I am.
Into adulthood, I couldn’t wait until I was 18 to be able to go to the big bingo hall for a game of bingo. Even though I did not win as often as our holiday bingo, the thrill of winning even £10.00 for a line against so many players was stomach turning.
With the onset of online bingo my passion has become even greater and after winning a very large jackpot on one the more popular bingo sites, I can’t see myself ever giving up the bingo bug.
